Registration for Apache Day Camp is now available! A registration link has been provided to your Committee Chair, Cubmaster and Day Camp Coordinator.
Apache Day camp is for rising Tigers through rising Arrow-of-Light. Webelos who will be in 4th or 5th grade need to register as campers. Rising Tigers must be accompanied by a parent.
June 20-24, 2016, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily
(Our Parent Campfire on the evening of Wednesday, June 22nd)
$125 per scout per week if registered and paid by April 14, 2016.
$150 per scout until May 30, 2016
Each Pack is required to provide one adult volunteer for every four scouts registered for the week. Only adult staffers (18-years and older) count in the 1 to 4 ratio needed for camp. Ideally, we would like volunteers to participate for the full five days. All registered adults should plan on attending the Staff training day Saturday, May 14th if they did not attend it last year.
If you are struggling to meet the ratios then perhaps volunteers could share a week. If it’s the day hours that your families are struggling with then I do have a couple pre-camp and post-camp slots that I could use help with. Pre/Post camp staff helps with; the carpool lane in the morning or afternoon, tidy-up camp at the end of the day, prepare den leader bags for the next day, other odds and ends.
All registered adults should plan on attending the Staff training day Saturday, May 14th.
Scouts who have crossed over to Boy Scouts or sisters who are 11 to 13-years old may register as a junior staffer if they are accompanied by a parent volunteer.
Scouts who are at least 14-years old and have earned their 1st class may register as junior staffer without a parent
Me-Too and Pink Patrol Programs
Having a difficult time volunteering because your scout has siblings at home? Here are some options which are available to parents who volunteer.
Me-Toos: Children ages 2 (potty trained) to 6
1st Me-Too is free
2nd Me-Too is $30
3rd Me-Too and thereafter is $15
For sisters in rising grades 1 through 5 who want to do everything the Cub Scouts are doing
Cost is the same as it is for Cub Scouts, $125 until April 14th or $150 until May 30th
Please provide your Day Camp Coordinator the following items:
AB Health forms (less than 12 months old)
* Copy of insurance card (front and back)
* Youth Protection Certificates (for all volunteers over 18-years old)
* T-shirt size (Every registered person will receive one T-shirt. Additional T-shirts may be purchased for $10 each.)
Day camp participants will make their payments to their Pack, and then the Day Camp Coordinator will turn in one check for the entire Pack along with the registration packet.
Cost should never be a reason a Scout does not attend camp. Please click on the link to the right to request campership assistance. First deadline is: April 14th
We encourage parents to communicate with Day Camp Director, Monica Zeleznik at firstname.lastname@example.org when questions or concerns arise.
Campers will get a schedule at the beginning of each day. There will be three 1-hr sessions before lunch, three 1-hr sessions after lunch. Some of the sessions include: archery, BBs, Climbing, Crafts, Sports/Games, Swimming, Boating, and Nature.
One of our special sessions this year will include learning about bees. Scouts will be able to view the colony in a closed observation hive while learning some interesting facts about bees. The session will conclude with an opportunity to taste the honey that they make! Please let me know if your child has an allergy to bee stings or a food allergy to honey. While every precaution will be made to present this session in a safe manner, if you or your child has a severe allergy to bee stings and would like to opt out, please let me know!
